Upright meaning
Despite the name, The Lovers is primarily a card about choice — and specifically a choice that reveals what you actually value. In relationship readings it is genuine connection; everywhere else it is a fork where both roads are real.
The Lovers reversed
Values out of alignment, either between two people or inside one person. Also the refusal to choose, which is itself a choice made by default.
In love
Deep compatibility, or a decision point in a relationship. Strong card, but it asks a question as often as it gives an answer: is this the one you are choosing, and on what grounds?
In career and money
A decision between two paths, or a partnership that only works if both sides want the same thing. Worth naming your actual priorities before deciding.
