How the meanings are written
Each entry starts from the traditional Rider–Waite–Smith reading and is written to be usable rather than mystical. Where a card is commonly misread — the Death card, the Tower, the reversals generally — the entry says so plainly instead of repeating the folklore.
Reversed meanings are written separately rather than as the inverse of the upright text. A reversed card is usually the same force blocked, overdone or turned inward, and flipping the upright sentence produces nonsense more often than insight.
How this site makes money
Some links to reading platforms are affiliate links. If you sign up through one, this site may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Nothing on the site is written to favour a platform that pays more — every platform page states its trade-offs, and the free card meanings are deliberately complete enough that you never need to pay anyone.
What tarot can and cannot do
Tarot is a structured way of thinking about a situation. Seventy-eight images with settled meanings give you a vocabulary for things you already half-know, and a spread forces you to articulate them in an order. That is genuinely useful, and it is not the same as prediction.
A reading cannot report another person's private feelings, diagnose an illness, or replace legal or financial advice. Any reader who tells you about a curse that can be removed for a further payment is running a script that long predates the internet — end the session.
